Free Press Release Submission Sites List 2027

Press release distribution puts an announcement about your business in front of journalists and on syndication networks. It is genuinely useful when you have news. It is worthless, and mildly risky, when you do not.

Short answer

Press release links should be nofollow, and the real prize is the coverage rather than the link.

Google treats links in distributed press releases as paid placements, and optimised anchor text in a syndicated release is a link scheme by their definition. Issue a release only when you have genuine news. The value arrives when a real publication picks the story up, because that editorial link is the one that counts.

This list has 101 distribution sites live on 2026-08-19, including the free tiers of the major networks and the smaller outlets that still accept submissions.

When a press release is worth writing

  1. You have actual news: a new office, a funding round, a partnership, an award, a hire, a product launch, or data nobody else has.
  2. There is a publication that plausibly covers this. For a Dehradun business that usually means local Uttarakhand press and trade titles rather than national outlets.
  3. You can write it as news rather than as advertising. If the first paragraph is about how excellent your service is, no editor will read the second.
  4. You have a quote, a photograph and a contact person ready. Releases without those get ignored even when the news is real.
  5. You are not doing it monthly. Routine releases about nothing train journalists to ignore your name.

How to read this table. DA, PA and Spam Score are real Moz figures from our own bulk checks. A dash means we have not run that domain yet, not that it scored zero, and we would rather show the gap than guess. Authority is our own 0 to 100 score derived from global popularity rank, and spam risk is Low for sites with a measurable audience and valid TLS. Every site here was also confirmed to load on 2026-08-19, which is the check DA cannot make: Moz still reports a healthy DA for services that shut down years ago, because it is computed from a link graph that remembers them.

A word on Spam Score. It counts how many spam-associated patterns a domain trips, not whether the site is bad. Large platforms full of user-generated pages trip a lot of them: the Internet Archive scores 60 percent here and is one of the most legitimate domains on the internet. Read a high score as a reason to look at the specific page you would be linked from, not as a reason to avoid the site.

Use branded anchor text and nofollow links in press releases. Keyword rich anchors in syndicated releases are one of the clearer link scheme signals you can send, and the pickup is what you actually wanted anyway.

Working through a list like this properly takes weeks, and it is only one part of the job. We do this for businesses across Dehradun and Uttarakhand, and we will tell you straight whether it is even the right priority for your site.
